Regional Manager
Location: Hoxton, London
Commitment: Part-time, on-site
Pay: £45,000–£55,000 per year (equivalent) plus bonus.
About Contrast
Contrast is the UK’s first 100% class-based sauna and cold plunge studio.
Inspired by the Danish practice of Saunagus, each Contrast Class combines heat, aromatherapy, guided breathwork, music, and ice baths to help people unwind, recover, and build resilience.
Sessions take place in large-format saunas with 15–40 participants, moving through three structured rounds of heat and cold. At the centre of each session is a trained facilitator—the Contrast Master—who leads the experience: adding essential oils to the sauna, directing waves of heat using a towel and fan, guiding breath cues, and building the energy through music and clear instruction.
Co-founded by Forbes 30 Under 30 entrepreneurs Ben Wintour (founder of Steel Warriors, with six outdoor gyms across London) and Connor Jensen Murphy (health entrepreneur and former captain of Danish Lacrosse), Contrast is redefining how people engage with hot and cold therapy—bringing structure, energy, and community to modern recovery.
The Role
We’re looking for a Regional Manager to lead our flagship Contrast Club and play a central role in our expansion. This is a senior leadership position responsible for studio performance, client experience, and team culture.
You’ll oversee daily operations across sessions, facilities, retail, and community, while managing a motivated team of Contrast Masters, front-of-house staff, and support crew. You’ll also be trusted to make data-driven business decisions, manage budgets, and—critically—support the rollout of new Contrast Clubs as we grow to 3–5 locations within the next year.
A key part of this role is rolling out our Contrast Master Training programme—identifying and developing suitable candidates to become Contrast Masters, ensuring consistent delivery standards across all sites, and building a talent pipeline to fuel our growth.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-energy, people-first environments, has a proven record of managing premium wellness or hospitality spaces, and is excited to build and scale a new category in wellness from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
Studio Operations
Oversee daily operations across all departments—sessions, front-of-house, facilities, and retail.
Manage studio performance metrics (attendance, retail, client retention) and make informed business decisions.
Oversee labour scheduling to ensure coverage, efficiency, and budget alignment.
Conduct regular inspections of all studio spaces and lead quick execution of repairs, upgrades, and facilities projects.
Maintain a visible presence in the studio, modelling best-in-class service and stepping in as needed.
Support the opening of our first few sights, setting the standard, and the integration of new Contrast Club locations across London.
Manage inventory levels and product sales at each location
Team Leadership
Lead communications with and between staff, ensuring smooth cross-department collaboration.
Recruit, onboard, and develop new employees across all departments.
Ensure all staff are fully trained in Contrast hospitality standards and safety protocols.
Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching team members, and addressing concerns with support from the People & Culture team.
Build a talent pipeline for long-term growth and raise engagement across high-performing team members.
Training & Development
Roll out the Contrast Master Training programme across new and existing locations.
Identify and develop suitable candidates to become Contrast Masters.
Ensure consistent delivery standards across all Contrast sessions.
Build a scalable training framework to support the company’s expansion plans.
Community & Marketing
Partner with the founders and marketing team to ideate and deliver local brand initiatives with positive impact.
Support client acquisition strategies, both corporate and individual.
Build and maintain a unified culture of community, wellbeing, and excellence within the studio.
Company Culture
Live and model the Contrast mission, values, and community standards every day.
Represent Contrast within the studio and the wider London fitness and wellness community.
Contribute to the growth of Contrast as a pioneering wellness brand.
Who We’re Looking For
2+ years’ experience managing a premium fitness or wellness studio—ideally class-based (e.g. 1Rebel, Boom Cycle, Barry’s, Reformer studios, Frame, Barrecore, or similar)
Deep working knowledge of Mariana Tek—including class scheduling, payments, reports, and staff permissions
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to run a calm, high-functioning team
High-agency drive and great communicator who’s confident, proactive, and approachable
Exceptionally organised and reliable, with a high attention to detail
A strong interest in recovery, wellbeing, and group-based wellness formats
Comfortable in a fast-paced, early-stage business environment and able to work 100% of the time on site and in person, building our community
Fluent English speaking
Full working rights to live and work in the UK
An agile perspective to work and supporting wherever needed with a determined can-do attitude.
